Citibank has appointed Janus Wu as the new Head of International Personal Bank (IPB) for Hong Kong, effective immediately.
Wu, formerly the Shenzhen Branch Manager, will now oversee the international personal banking business, focusing on the One-Citi partnership to enhance service for IPB clients.
His role includes driving business growth through a comprehensive suite of banking solutions and investment services.
Vicky Kong, Chief Executive of Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited, emphasized the strategic importance of the region, stating, “As one of Citi’s wealth hubs, we are strongly positioned and fully committed to providing wealth management services to both onshore and overseas clients across the region.”
She added that Wu’s proven track record and extensive experience in the banking sector will be crucial as the bank aims to expand its operations in the Greater Bay Area and further cement its leadership in wealth management.
Wu joined Citibank in 2007 as a Management Associate and has since held various senior roles in China and Hong Kong, focusing on both institutional and consumer businesses.
He was named the Wealth Management Unit Head in Retail Banking for Citi China in 2017 and took over as Shenzhen Branch Manager in 2020 before his latest appointment.
